Once TART has been made aware of a Texas Airedale Terrier in need, the wheels immediately get put into motion.
Most of our Airedales come to our attention via our on-line surrender form. We then take the time to visit with the surrendering owner to try to throughly understand the reason for the surrender as well as the behavior and temperament of each individual dog. With Airedales we find who have somehow ended up in a Texas shelters, we do our best to find as much of their back story as we can. Sometimes the information on file doesn't tell us much.
Next, we do our due diligence to match the dog with the perfect foster and/or adopter. (NOTE: As a Texas rescue, we generally give priority to Texas applicants who fit the individual Airedale's needs)
Our goal is to make the very best rescue match. Our adoption questionnaire takes into consideration the dog's background and your specific needs. Every dog is different: personality, temperament, energy, comfort with kids and other animals, medical needs and more. We do our best to match the right dog with the right adoptive home because we want this to be the Airedale's last time looking for a home.

We will review your application upon receipt. If we have any questions or concerns, we will contact you for clarity.
TART will call to let you know we received your adoption application and once we have a dog that is a match for you we will contact you about that particular dog and arrange a home visit or a virtual meeting.
