I've found my furever family!

Hi! My Name Is Ellie

We're happy to tell you that Ellie has a new furever home.
Please visit our Available Dogs Page to see the pups currently available.

(Adoption Pending) If Ellie could be summed up in a song it would be "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun!".

Little 55 lb Ellie is still a puppy at heart and full of puppy energy and mischievousnes at just under 2 years old. She is housebroken and though she doesn't have much exposure to other dogs, she currently lives and plays happily alongside a female teddy-bear poodle, who is a fraction of her size. Ellie is looking for an active Airedale person/couple/family to commit to. New family dynamics in her current home (beyond her control) have put her in a situation where she is not getting enough exercise or interaction with her people. AND boy does Ellie LOVE people! Ellie needs someone home with her most days to provide her with structure and continue her training...in addition to smothering her with an abundance of love and affection.  Ellie is a whip-smart gem and has SO MUCH to give back in return.

Ellie loves children but currently overwhelms her owner's 6 year-old due to her size and energy. Another child in the home near the same age does fine with her. Ellie would love to have another dog and/or a dog experienced child to play with. It was indicated that Ellie would be fine with any age child who was willing and able to play and interact with her, but probably age 10 or up would be a safer bit for children with little past dog experience.

From her current family:

What An Adopter Will Love about Ellie:

1. This is Ellie: “Girls Just Want to Have FUN!”
2. She is going to LOVE, LOVE, LOVE you and you will be greeted and treated  like a super-star every, single day.
3. Ellie is super affectionate,
4. She is ALWAYS up for ANYTHING!
5. Ellie REALLY wants to please you and make you happy.

NOTE: Ellie is young and needs someone home with her to a large extend to help her learn boundaries and mature. Ellie also has an aversion to crates (views them as a punishment) and would not be a fit with crating homes. TART will coordinate with her new adoptive home, getting her spayed and on a heart worm preventative right away.

If you're an active, non-crating person/family with time to commit and are looking for a little smaller version of precious Airedale love, this smart, highly trainable Princess might be a perfect fit for you!
