(FOSTER or FOSTER-TO-ADOPT NEEDED: Oklahoma/Texas Airedale Rescue Joint Effort) Guys, we have the opportunity to transform the life of another “chicken-wire” Airedale in need, but we can’t do it without you.
Meet Geo, he is a friendly, sweet, EXTREMELY HANDSOME 1½ year-old male who is currently kept isolated in an outdoor chicken-wire pen, alone, and with minimal human contact. Fortunately for him, an angel stumbled upon his situation and reached out to Oklahoma and Texas Airedale Rescue for help. With foster homes hard to come-by in both states, our two rescues have joined forces to try to find a perfect foster or foster-to-adopt home for this charmer. Geo’s current owner is poised to release him to rescue, we just need the right somebody willing to take him in and introduce him to the good life he has yet to experience.
Geo is SO ready to become a beloved, doted on, inside, family dog. He is extremely excited when his “angel mom” comes to visit. He can hardly contain his happiness at having “people time”. We have some video posted down in the comments. In one you'll see how hard Geo is trying to be good on a leash, with no previous exposure.
Ideal situation for Geo: Geo needs an experienced home/foster (Airedale experience preferred) where someone is at the house with him most days to show him the ropes of being an indoor dog. He is currently not housebroken so he will need frequent outdoor breaks in an ample-sized, securely fenced yard until he gets the swing of things. Obviously Geo has not been tested with other dogs, cats, or children. His world has been very small and isolated. He needs love, attention, socialization, exercise, companionship AND, of course, a super soft, comfy, bed. At only 1½ years old Geo still has a degree of puppy still left in him and will need lots of positive reinforcement to learn his manners. We are confident Geo will be a quick study.
(Interested but nervous? Taking in a neglected dog raised like Geo might not be as scary as you think. Airedales are so crazy, resilient. TART recently took in a bonded pair (Missy and Rocky) from a chicken-wire pen. We expected chaos. To our astonishment, these two transitioned amazingly fast to indoor life and have never looked back. Missy and Rocky’s fosters found their time with them to be incredibly awarding. Their new adopters in turn, love them to the moon.)

Geo has every reason in the world to be bitter at the cards he’s been dealt, but he isn't. Despite his neglected upbringing, he is happy, hopeful and almost knowing that help is on the way. If nothing else, please consider sharing this post. You might be the person who connects him to his next home and a new and happy life
