I've found my furever family!

Hi! My Name Is Lady Diana

We're happy to tell you that Lady Diana has a new furever home.

Even though my name is Lady Diana, my life has been far from regal lately. My owner and I went through some difficult times. As a result, medical attention and grooming was put on the back burner for longer than I’d like to admit. Over time, I have sadly turned into a shaggy mess. Things finally got so bad that my owner decided to reach out to Texas Airedale Rescue for help. I am SOOO ready to get back on my feet and on to a loving home where I’ll be cherished, pampered and treated like the royal princess I long to be. I’ll be getting my hair done soon so you’ll be able to see just how tiara-worthy I actually am. I’ll also be getting a thorough check-up. I’m a little older lady you see, and I’m embarrassed to admit it, but at one time I had some urine dribble issues. I’m not sure if that is still going on with me, but we’ll find out soon. I’m told there are amazing meds now to take care of that issue. I’ll also need to take arthritis medicine for my stiff joints. So, I know I’m not as young as I use to be and I’ll need meds every day but, consider that I’m well behaved, I still have a lot of love to give AND I’m a lot of fun. Actually I’m a Royal Highness HOOT. Keep an eye on me. I’m going to be looking to find my Queen and/or King of Hearts very soon. Until then, I guess I’ll be TART’s Lady in Waiting.

Lady Diana is a new arrival to TART. She is an easy-going 7 to 8 year-old, spayed female who is described as a fun-loving goofball who loves to be with her people. And not just "her people". Lady Di loves to meet and interact with new people too. She likes to bump people with her head to say hello rather than jumping up on them like most Airedales we encounter. Lady Diana is crate trained for sleeping but has not had any leash training. Her previous routine has been spending her days outside and sleeping indoors in her crate. While outside, Lady Di does not dig or try to escape out of her fenced yard. She is playful, sweet-natured and knows how to "sit", "bark" and "go get your snake" (rope toy). She never turns down an opportunity to play in water. Lady Diana gets along well with other dogs (all sizes) though there was one instance where she had an issue with another dog that was aggressive toward her.  She does not get along well with cats. Lady Diana has not been exposed to children but is compatible with teenagers and older. She is currently on medication for arthritis and leaky bladder. We will have both conditions assessed and treated and provide updates when we know more.

Lady Diana is being surrendered based on personal circumstances of her former owner, not for any behavioral or medical issue.
