The DNA is in! Ralphie is (52% Airedale Terrier), (28% Miniature American Shepherd), (5% Australian Shepherd), (4% Australian Cattle Dog), (4% Border Collie), and four more. His foster mom says he's a (100% Sweet Boy) who loves tummy rubs and playing.
Little Ralphie was found roaming the streets all alone and on his own. He was picked up, surrendered to TART and immediately started settling in with his foster family. He is doing well learning to walk on a leash and knows how to "sit". He is now crate trained and is a good sleeper. His house training is 99% complete, with only 1 accident in the past 2 weeks.
Ralphie loves playing with his foster sister (Airedale) but has issues with an elderly dog in the home at mealtime and is fed separately. Ralphie eats side by side, no issues at all with their other dog. Ralphie does fine with the five house cats, playing with one and ignoring the hissing disrespect he often gets from the others.
Ralphie is so smart and picks up new things (like the doggie doors) easily. This boy clearly channels his Airedale side of this family with his wily smarts, his exceptional good-looks, and his enthusiasm for life. He seems to be a minimal shedder as well which he can attribute to his Airedale lineage.
Ralphie is sure to make someone a very good companion but as a very active puppy who loves running and playing hard with the pack, a home with another active dog would be ideal.
