I know, I know. I look like a cuddly, cute bundle of love in my photo...and truly I AM, but I'm also a bit of a handful. I have been in training with my foster family for some time now I am ready for my very own new home. Though I have come miles since I first arrived at TART, I believe that full, honest disclosures are the first steps in establishing a long-term, loving relationship with my new family.
So I’ll begin by listing areas where I continue to be a work in progress: 1. If I have the opportunity I WILL try to chew things up from time to time. It’s usually things like cables, remotes, iPad covers and such. I try so hard to resist the urge but sometimes the temptation is too much. 2. Okay, there is this really awesome dog on the other side of the fence from me that I would really like to meet. I have been known to dig with all the gusto within me for a just a mere chance at introducing myself. I know, I know it’s wrong. 3. I still pull too much on my leash and sometimes I need a little squirt from a spray water bottle to keep me focused…it sure gets my attention, but sooo embarrassing.
Just for the record, I also have some awesome characteristics (in addition to incredible good looks) that I believe you should note: 1 am good in my kennel/crate and I wait to be released. 2. I love to cuddle with my humans AND my current Airedale buddy…all 75 pounds of me, that’s right, cuddle city. I have made SOOOO much progress since I first came to TART and now I just need someone with the time and experience to keep me focused and working in the right direction (between cuddles). Is that you?
Rambo has been in training with an experienced Airedale foster family for some time and is now ready for his new home. We believe Rambo would do best with an experienced Airedale owner who has ample time to devote to him and continue his training. Rambo has lots of energy even for an Airedale. He needs a good deal of physical exercise and mental stimulation. Another large dog to play with would be ideal. A larger yard would also be a plus. He is your typical young, head-strong Airedale male with tons of personality and potential who just needs constant and consistent training as he matures. Of course he needs play time too. Rambo especially loves tug of war and will bring you his rope to initiate play. He can not have toys with stuffing or squeakers because he destroys them. Rambo might do well with Bark Box for heavy chewers.
Rambo is really interested in other dogs and gets overly excited around them sometimes. He also gets extremely excited when you come home after being away and tends to jump. Rambo was recently neutered which has helped him focus and slow down a bit.
Bottom line: Rambo is a very cute, silly and affectionate boy who is going to make someone an incredible new member of their family, but he IS as rambunctious as he is smart and affectionate. Rambo’s a BIG BOY but there is still a lot of puppy on the inside!
